RSGB Club Championships
As I write this we have just started this years (2019) Autumn Series of contests. This is a series of contests run by the RSGB which runs three contests each month from September until the end of November. The three contests alternate each month between SSB, CW (morse) and Data modes. All these take place on the 80m band and are open to all licensed amateurs.

This contest allows for multiple stations from one club to be operating and then to enter their score on behalf of the group, so we are always very keen to have entries on behalf of Verulam. The more operators we have on in an event the better are our chances. We started our entries in last years contest and made a very good start ending up in 7th place over all, so we are looking to improve on that this year.

If you are interested in taking part, then you can read the rules and see dates and times for the contest at the RSGB site HERE!

The club has the short contest call G3V, which is regularly taking part in these contests, and any amateur who does not have the space or equipment for an 80m set up are always welcome to come along and help run the station here. At present the station is being run from a QTH in Flamstead, which is near J9 of the M1. If you would like to come along drop me an email at contesting@verulam-arc.org.uk.

73 for now and hope to hear you on in the contest.

Peter G0OIK.
